The Montpelier Emergency Cold Weather Shelter is a “pop-up”, as-needed shelter for those experiencing homelessness when the wind chill drops below 10° Fahrenheit. Developed by faith communities and community leaders, the “Montpelier Cold” program is a volunteer-based and led attempt to address the serious need for shelter in the Montpelier, VT area. Our ability to open and the location of the shelter sometimes change based on circumstances beyond our control, but we try our best to ensure that up to 15 people will have a warm place to sleep through the night.
